Can We Use CBD To Heal Inflammation Across the Body?

CBD is widely known for its pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, but can this property of CBD be used to heal inflammation across the body? This article talks about inflammation, types of inflammation, and how CBD might be used to treat inflammation.
The cannabis plant has been used for medical purposes from as early as 5000 years ago, with people using it as a recreational drug. However, in recent years one of its compounds, CBD, has been in the spotlight for having a magical amount of health possibilities for man. Many scientists claim CBD to have amazing health benefits, including helping those with insomnia, acne, and eczema disease. However, can CBD's magical wonders also work on aiding those that have inflammation across the body? Let's take a deeper dive into this possibility.

    What is Inflammation?

The body is like a working system itself, and it also hasits way of dealing with any threat that comes into the body. Inflammation is the body's response to getting rid of harmful cells and pathogens or foreign material entering the body. Although this might work in a great way to protect you against diseases, it can sometimes be more over the line, becoming irritating andcan cause so much pain. Sometimes inflammation can get to the point that you might require to seek medical attention and can sometimes make it hard for you to continue with your normal livelihood.
Although there might be other medical possibilities for dealing with inflammation, several people opt for CBD as a natural way of fighting off inflammation. Some medical options, including pharmaceutical drugs, might have adverse side effects that might make it even more uncomfortable for you, as Wongrakpanich et al. (2018) showed. There are two main types of inflammation; chronic and acute inflammation.
Acute inflammation is a rather temporary kind of inflammation, and although it might sometime be uncomfortable, it is not long-lasting. This type of inflammation usually occurs due to the body's natural response to a threat or any harmful material that might have entered the body. It can cause your body to be painful and might cause redness, heat, or even swelling in a specific area. Chronic inflammation is more painful and might be caused by other medical conditions such as arthritis or IBS. The pain caused by this type of inflammation might sometimes be too much and require you to seek medical treatment. Thankfully CBD has presented itself as a different alternative to treating chronic inflammation.

    Introduction to CBD

According to Andre, Hausman & Guerriero (2016), CBD is one of the compounds found in the cannabis plant; although the plant has over a hundred compounds, THC and CBD are the most popular and dominant ones. CBD, in particular, has been in the mainstream lately due to its many claimed health benefits that you might use to heal many diseases. The compound is mostly extracted from the Hemp plant, which is found in a higher percentage with THC- the compound responsible for the 'high' effect in marijuana having a low percentage. The recent surge in demand for CBD products has resulted in many companies entering the field of CBD products. Therefore several products are available for purchase today.
These include edibles, mainly food products such as cookies or cooking oils containing CBD. These foods usually have an appealing taste. Therefore, they are a favorite amongst many who don't like CBD's natural sharp taste. Oil tinctures are derived from the cannabis plant; hemp seed oil and CBD oil products can be found on the market. Although the names of the products might get confusing, they are the most widely used form of taking in CBD and usually have a long shelf-life.
Capsules are a popular choice for users who want to measure their dosage amount easily; they are a great way to provide a more standardized dosage and save you the trouble of guessing your dosage. Another form of taking in CBD products is E-liquids and vape oils; this is a popular way of consuming CBD products amongst teens and involves taking vaping into your lungs. Vaping is one of the most effective ways of taking CBD because it can take a shorter time to feel the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects of CBD.

Does CBD Work To Heal Inflammation?

As the popularity of CBD grows, so does the need to do more research, and the good thing is that more research is being done to understand CBD fully. The interaction of CBD with receptors in the body is thought to be why the effects of CBD are felt in the body. The endocannabinoid system, in particular, is a system of receptors that is thought to control the mood, sleeping pattern, and pain reception in the body, as Meyer et al. (2019)explained. The interaction of CBD with the endocannabinoid system is thought to affect how your body interprets pain and reduce the amount of inflammation in the body. This receptor can be found easily all over the body. CBD can reduce the amount of inflammation that occurs throughout the body.
Research seems to back up these claims, although most of it is still in its infantry stage, and more human research is still required to say CBD helps with inflammation fully. However, CBD users claim to experience a magical relief to their inflammation when used. This positive research might be enough for some to venture into the world of CBD, exploring the possibilities of using CBD for inflammation. However, although there seem to be many advantages to using CBD, there is a need to be careful too. According toMeissner &Cascella (2021), some users have claimed to experience side effects such as fatigue, drowsiness or sleepiness, and a change in appetite. Although these side effects are mostly tolerable, you must seek advice from your health advisor.

    Conclusion

There has been a lot of buzz about CBD products, which have been claimed to help with many health conditions affecting humans. However, health specialists are still finding more evidence for CBD claims. Some are self-proclaiming the effects of CBD on their health, including those with inflammation throughout the body. Some of the research on how CBD might just affect how the body responds to pain and inflammation have shown positive results that show slight improvements in combatting chronic inflammation. You, too, can join the wide range of people opting for CBD as a natural way of helping with inflammation in the body.
