How to Apply CBD Cream to Your Feet and Heels

The rise of CBD products has prompted people to use them on their skin. There are several ways in which one has to apply CBD to the heels and the feet. Before applying the CBD cream, you should decide on the part to be applied, prepare it, and massage and rub the feet with the CBD cream.

Manufacturers of CBD products have put their creative minds to work and devised different ways to consume CBD, including sublingual, vaping, and topicals. CBD topicals consist of various forms. They include lotions, creams, and balms. CBD creams are applied to the skin and made to interact with the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is centrally placed in the body and has cannabinoid receptors that interact with the CBD cream to feel its effects. They have a lot of benefits on the feet and heels. This article delves deeper into how one can apply CBD cream to the heels and feet.

    What is CBD?

Qureshi et al. (2012) stated that CBD is one of the active and natural organic compounds extracted from the cannabis plant. They can be used in different ways, including vaping, tinctures, and topicals. CBD creams fall under CBD topicals and are applied to the skin.

How to Apply CBD Cream to Your Feet and Heels

    Below are the steps to follow when applying CBD cream;

Decide on the Part to Apply CBD Cream

One should first check on the part where the pain is or where they want the effects to be felt. The CBD cream effects will be felt on the localized areas. If one is unsure about the painful area, applying the CBD cream on the joint areas like the knees or the feet soles would be best. The muscles or joints around the area will react well to the CBD cream and spread its effects to the affected area.

Prepare the Part Where CBD Cream Is Going to Be Applied

The main purpose of rubbing the cream on the feet is so that the cannabinoids can soak into the muscles and make them loosen to relieve the pain felt on the feet. However, in cases where the feet have some dirt, sweat, or dead cells, it will be difficult for the CBD cream to be felt on the skin. According to Evans (2020), the CBD molecules will find it hard to get into the area where the tightness and pain are being felt. One should therefore ensure that the area or part where the CBD is being applied has been washed properly and is completely clean.

You can use warm water or a washcloth to scrub the part in which the CBD cream will be applied. Dry the whole part with a towel and prepare it for CBD cream. Doing so will help remove dirt and ensure that all the pores are opened, and the effects of the CBD cream will be felt.

    Start with the Recommended Dosage

When applying CBD cream to the feet or the heels, you should ensure that the amount of CBD cream you are applying is not that much. It should be according to the dosage required. Too much CBD cream may worsen the pain. Check the CBD cream packaging and the dosage needed for one to apply the CBD cream on the heels and feet.

    Use Full-spectrum CBD Cream

Cream (2020) suggested that full-spectrum CBD cream is the best type of CBD to use. It has all the compounds in the cannabis plant, thus being effective. It may have the presence of THC compound but not enough to cause the effects on an individual. You can also opt for the broad-spectrum and the isolate-based CBD, but they will not be as effective as the full-spectrum CBD.

Massage the Foot with the CBD Cream Severally

Dab some healthy CBD dose of CBD cream into the painful area. Ensure that you rub the area vigorously so that you can be able to create some heat on that part. The cream is then pushed into the foot’s lower layers. Gently massage the foot part as this will help to bring blood back to the part being applied the cream.

Rubbing might seem ideal, but in reality, the best thing to do in this case would be to massage the different parts. This will ensure that the blood is brought back to the area where the CBD cream has been applied. It will also assist the cannabinoids in delving deeper into the tissue and the muscle joint as well as the wide part of the foot area.

    Wash the Hands

Lust (2014) stated that after applying CBD foot cream to your foot, you should wash your hands with soap and warm water. The CBD foot cream may have the presence of some ingredients like pepper, citrus, and mint, which may not be great when they come into contact with sensitive parts like the eyes, nose, and mouth. Moreover, CBD cream might be hazardous to one’s health when placed in the mouth. It is better to avoid such irritations by washing your hands.

    Be Patient

One should not expect the CBD foot cream to give relief immediately after it has been applied. They may be able to help, but one has to wait for the CBD cream to interact with the endocannabinoid receptors to feel the full effects. The cream has to be absorbed by the skin first before the effects are felt.

    Conclusion

CBD creams are a great addition to the skincare routine. The skin is a susceptible part of the body and, when not taken care of properly, can bring a lot of risks to a person. The feet and the heels fall under the skin. One may often experience cracked feet, pain, and swollen feet and heels. The CBD cream is essential in such instances as it assists in healing the cracked heels and feet, relieving the pain, and minimizes the soreness felt on the skin.
