Being on the road is a problem for most people since it requires undivided attention. Most people have been caught violating these laws leading to road accidents that can be avoided.
Being on the road, especially the expressways and the highways, calls for one maximum focus, or more accidents are reported. Research has revealed that most accidents are caused by other road users or one's carelessness. These can be clarified by saying that accidents result from poor overtaking, prohibiting one from changing the lanes, confronting another driver over misconduct, and colliding with another vehicle. Looking at such causes of accidents, one can try to avoid them. Since CBD has been embraced in medical fields or for recreational purposes, one may ask whether it can be used to solve road rage. This article will focus on providing answers to that question. Apart from that, one will also know about the legalization of cannabidiol in some states. Learn more about is cbd safe for driving?
Most people have confused marijuana with CBD, not realizing that one is extracted from the other. According to Cooray et al. (2020), CBD is a compound extracted from the Cannabis sativa plant, popularly known as marijuana or weed. CBD can also be extracted from a hemp plant, especially the reproductive part of it. It can treat anxiety, stress, brain infections, or insomnia. Besides CBD, also known as cannabidiol, there are more than one hundred compounds in the cannabis plant. Despite challenging other compounds with their wide applications, most individuals have confused CBD with its cousin THC, a compound responsible for the 'high' effect after smoking marijuana. The duos are different as THC causes a high' feeling while CBD does not.
The types of CBD are identified according to the number of compounds it contains and the level of THC. The types of CBD include and are not limited to the following; full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and CBD isolate. Below are summaries of each type, considering the concentration of THC and number of compounds:
It is the purest form of CBD, made from none cannabis compounds. Such compounds may include linalool, limonene, pinene, and THC. The presence of such compounds in a CBD product can be evident by a characteristic odor that may discourage people from using CBD, especially beginners. Therefore, this type of CBD is suitable for individuals just starting to use CBD. According to Clark et al. (2017), it can be used to treat chaos associated with sleeping or brain infections. However, it is unsuitable for those who want to treat more diseases due to its limited number of compounds.
This type of CBD consists of all compounds of the cannabis plant, with at least 0.3% of THC. Since it contains THC, full-spectrum makes somebody feel 'high' when consumed. According to Mba et al. (2012), much and prolonged consumption of full-spectrum CBD leads to addiction and over-dependence. Moreover, one may develop psychoactive problems due to its consumption. It treats more diseases like autoimmune syndromes, cancer, and chronic pain.
It is composed of all the compounds of the cannabis plant with no THC. Therefore, CBD does not bring a 'high' effect as opposed to full-spectrum CBD. It gives more benefits than the isolate type and leads to fewer psychoactive effects than the full- spectrum. It is the intermediate of the initial types of CBD and hence may be used by beginners and regular users of CBD. Cons et al. (2022) suggested that CBD can be used to manage chronic pain and treat skin cancer and other infections. More research is needed to verify the use of a broad spectrum in treating different diseases; thus, one should use it with a doctor's instructions.
According to some research, most road accidents are caused by stress, anxiety, and some physical pains. Sarris et al.(2020) suggested that it can be used to treat anxiety, chronic pain, and mental disorders. The study above found that CBD alone cannot be used to solve road sage but can be combined with THC to bring effective solutions. CBD works when it comes to solving road sage. The effect is brought when CBD stimulates the body's endocannabinoid system, which stimulates its receptors. According to Ali et al. (2015), the receptors release chemical compounds that help one achieve maximum sleep, alleviate pain, and treat anxiety and stress. A user may calm down and focus on the road, avoiding the risks of accidents. The effect of cannabidiol on solving road sage through treating different diseases is yet to be researched well; thus, one should consult medical personnel before using it.
One can incorporate different forms into a diet or use them as a dosage for the benefits of solving road sage. The forms of CBD available online or in gas stations are oils, vapes, edibles, gummies, and tinctures. Below is a brief knowledge of the importance and composition of each of them:
These are forms of CBD consumed through inhalation or smoking. They are suitable for individuals who want to enjoy CBD without getting a disgusting taste showing the presence of cannabidiol compounds.
They are CBD forms incorporated in foods or drinks. They help to mask the taste and smell of cannabidiol compounds which may discourage first CBD users. They are important in boosting diet, sleep, and alleviating chronic pain. However, the more benefits it has, one should not use edibles without a doctor's recommendation.
They are alcohol-based types of cannabidiol made from high-proof alcohol. The alcohol used plays a vital role in determining its shelf life since it prolongs the shelf life of CBD. Tinctures are fast absorbed into the bloodstream, hence convenient to those who want the immediate effect. However, they cannot be carried for picnics or trips.
CBD oils extract cannabidiol from the cannabis plant and then dilute it with a carrier oil like coconut or olive oil. Like tinctures, they are fast absorbed into the bloodstream bringing fast change.
For CBD to be used for solving road chaos, one needs to know the laws and regulations that govern its usage in a particular country. This is because different countries have enforced different laws each one should follow. In the UK, cannabidiol which FDA has approved, is allowed for use. However, in Australia, CBD is only allowed when it contains 98% of cannabidiol compounds, and THC occupies the rest percentage.
Drivers bear the life of the passengers; hence it is upon each of them to ensure that the safety of passengers in a vehicle is assured. Accidents are often caused by things that can be avoided before traveling. For focus to be achieved on the road, one should have enough sleep, free from anxiety and stress, as this may draw attention, making one lose focus on the road. These could sometimes be hard to achieve, leading to loss of life. One can use CBD to get rid of such chaos. Using cannabidiol under governed rules and regulations is important since more research is needed to legalize it.
