    What CBD Strength Should I Use?

    When checking out different CBD brands, you will see different strengths in their products. The different options may make you feel like you don't know what you are looking for. Consider a few things when deciding what CBD strength is right for you. Read on to learn more about CBD, the CBD strength you need to use, and the benefits of using CBD.

    With the array of CBD-based products and varying strengths, settling on the best option for your situation can be tricky. Millions of people use CBD for therapeutic benefits, but very few know the right strength to use for better results. There are hundreds of CBD brands you can choose from, with each brand producing at least two to three different strengths of CBD. Your preferred CBD strength mostly depends on why you want to use CBD and what benefits you hope to get from the product. Your body size also determines the strength of the CBD product you may need.

    Besides, it is important to understand that everyone has a different biochemistry. Your friend may experience pain relief after a single dose of CBD oil, while you may need several servings to experience the same effects. The most important thing is to start with a low-strength CBD product to monitor how it works in your system. You may need to adjust to a more concentrated CBD product in case the low-concentrated product does not work efficiently for you.

    What Is CBD?

    Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a natural compound derived from the cannabis plant. The cannabis plant has over one hundred and fifty compounds known as cannabinoids. Among them, CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the most popular cannabinoids. These cannabinoids are responsible for therapeutic effects associated with cannabis plants. For example, THC is responsible for the psychoactive effects that cannabis is widely known for. On the contrary, CBD is non-intoxicating; it does not cause any impaired cognitive function when consumed. Therefore, many people who want to benefit from the therapeutic properties of cannabis without experiencing any head-high effect opt for CBD-based products.

    CBD interacts with your body's endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS regulates various body functions such as mood, appetite, memory, pain, sleep, reproduction, learning, immune responses, and other brain signaling systems. It comprises CB1 and CB2 endocannabinoid receptors activated by CBD to influence the efficacy of the ECS.

    What CBD Strength Should I Use?

    There isn't a straightforward answer to this; however, there are a few things to take into consideration;

    Body Size Matters

    The efficacy of CBD oil also depends on an individual's body size. For example, if you have a larger body size, you may need to begin with a higher concentration of CBD than a person with a smaller body size.

    CBD Potency

    There are three common CBD potencies available in the market. They include;

    Low-Potency CBD

    Low potency CBD ranges from 150 mg to 300 mg CBD. This works well for those who respond well to CBD products or want to take CBD for the body's general wellness. It also works well for individuals with a more active endocannabinoid system.

    Mid-potency CBD

    Mid-potency CBD ranges from 600 mg to 750 mg. It may benefit those who want extra support or are not benefitting from a lower dosage.

    High-potency CBD

    High-potency CBD ranges from 1000 mg and beyond. It works well for individuals with more serious health issues difficult to manage. It may also work well for individuals struggling with maintaining a healthy sleep pattern. High-potency CBD can also benefit those prone to stress responses.

    It is recommended to start with a low-potency CBD and gradually increase the concentration until you find what works well for you.

    Results May Take Time

    In most cases, CBD stays in your body for quite some time. Some people may experience dramatic results immediately after they consume a CBD product, while others may react after a period of daily consumption. Subsequently, it is recommended that you start with a lower concentration and monitor the results before adjusting to a higher concentration. Besides, low-potency CBD products tend to be cheaper, so if they work well for you, you could save on the cost and improve your health. Before adjusting, you need time to monitor how the product works in your system. This may take a few weeks or months to assess the effects fully.

    Reason for Taking CBD

    The benefits you are looking for will determine the strength of a CBD product you may need to use. Some people consume CBD for wellness support, while others take it for exercise recovery or better sleep quality. For example, if you take CBD for recovery after a workout, you may need a more concentrated CBD oil or cream to soothe joint aches and muscle pains. A low concentration CBD oil or tincture may help maintain healthy sleep patterns or enhance calmness during panic attacks.

    What are the Benefits of Using CBD?

    According to Maroon & Bost (2018), CBD contains anti-inflammatory, immuno-modulatory, and neuroprotective properties that can be used to manage neurological conditions such as malignant brain tumors, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, neuropathic pain, and childhood epileptic disorders such as Lennox-Gastaut and Dravet syndrome.

    Cooray et al. (2020) suggested that CBD interacts with receptors in your body's endocannabinoid system to release pain-relieving effects that help manage pain. According to John (2022), you cannot build a tolerance to CBD. Unlike opioids, CBD is not addictive. It, therefore, works for your condition and can be a long-term solution for managing chronic pain.

    CBD can be used to treat anxiety and depression, as well as to reduce substance abuse. Laczkovics et al. (2021) suggested that CBD relieves depression, anxiety, and stress. The depression, anxiety, and early psychosis symptoms were evaluated in a patient using a pre-post design. The patient was then assessed before CBD administration and after 8 weeks of using CBD. The results showed that CBD was a safer and well-tolerated medication for patients who experienced social phobia, depression, drug withdrawal symptoms, and comorbid personality disorder. Upon treatment with CBD, the patient improved regarding depressive and anxiety symptoms and stopped substance abuse, including THC, without showing any withdrawal symptoms.

    CBD is a popular cannabinoid relieves pain and inflammation and reduces high anxiety levels. The most important thing to consider when figuring out the right strength of CBD is to understand that our bodies have different biochemistry. Everyone responds differently when it comes to CBD. Therefore, you may require a different strength of CBD to produce the same results as the other person. Your friend may soothe muscle pain in just a single serving, while you may require several servings to obtain the same effects. Additionally, the strength of a CBD product to use depends on your body size, the CBD potency of the product, and the reason for taking CBD.
