GETTING TO KNOW THE POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS OF CBD OIL

THC is the hemp plant's second dominant element, resulting in most side effects of its psychoactive effects. A high intake of CBD oil with THC leads to a "high" feeling. The best type of CBD to avoid the side effects is broad-spectrum and isolate because they lack THC.

CBD oil is manufactured from organic hemp plant extracts. The hemp plant has terpenes, flavonoids, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and cannabidiol (CBD). These elements are used in differentiating the types of CBD oil. Due to various unique properties of the hemp plant elements, such as anti-inflammatory, they are associated with various health and wellness benefits. However, CBD products are restricted in some parts of the USA due to the presence of THC, a psychoactive element in the hemp plant. Also, the 2018 Farm Bill legalizing CBD products restricts THC levels to 0.3%. Why are CBD products restricted in some parts of the USA? Maybe it's time you get to know the potential side effects of CBD oil.

GETTING TO KNOW THE POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS OF CBD OIL

    THC

THC is the second dominant element of the hemp plant associated with psychoactive side effects. McGregor et al. (2020) noted that according to the 2018 Farm Bill legalizing CBD products, THC levels found in the hemp plant are insignificant and can’t harm consumers; by 0.3%. Dhoubhadel (2021) reported that the 2018 Farm Bill and Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) restrict all hemp-based products exceeding 0.3%. THC levels in marijuana are way high, which would cause more harm to the user.  According to McCoy et al. (2018),  the common side effects of THC include anxiety, severe headaches, poor memory, dry and red eyes and lips, and poor appetite. These symptoms only occur under the excess intake of CBD oil.

Why Is CBD Oil Making Me High?

Elements such as terpenes and flavonoids don't have side effects even when consumed excessively, but CBD might trigger-THC-related effects. Therefore, users should be careful about the concentrations they take. However, the impact of the concentration is equally determined by a few factors; experience and body chemistry. Veterans can only feel the impact by taking a higher potency than usual or too much of it. On the contrary, the novices can feel the side effects with slight concentrations of 10 mg of CBD as a new substance in the body.

Millar et al. (2018) explained that different consumers have unique body formulations. Strong bodies might take time fighting the psychoactive side effects of CBD. On the contrary, if the immune system is poor, the red blood cells won't counter-interact the implications of THC and CBD easily. This will make the body become hijacked by THC and CBD-related side effects. Therefore, before starting to use CBD oil, talk to a medical expert to study the impact of CBD oil on your health. Also, if one is on medication, consider seeking medical guidance before replacing it with CBD or incorporating the two for enhancing general health and wellness.

Which Type Of CBD Is Good For My Health?

There are three types of CBD oil; full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate. The three types are determined by the presence and absence of terpenes, flavonoids, THC, or CBD. Also, their health and wellness implications differ.

    Full Spectrum CBD Oil

A consumer looking forward to gaining all the health and wellness benefits from each element of the hemp plant, full-spectrum is the best option. It contains terpenes, THC, CBD, and flavonoids. Nearly all manufacturers have full-spectrum CBD because it takes less struggle for extraction. Full-spectrum CBD whole is also known as the whole spectrum. Anderson et al. (2021) suggested that it offers an entourage effect due to the reaction of the useful elements of hemp. The entourage effect is the ability of various elements to work together to offer more therapeutic solutions than a single element. However, the presence of THC results in some doubts from CBD experts and users regarding its effectiveness. Full-spectrum CBD oil users are exposed to THC-related side effects. Therefore, unless they take considerable amounts, they are likely to experience the psychoactive effects of THC and CBD, including anxiety and severe headaches.

    Broad Spectrum

de Assis et al (2021) indicated that Broad-spectrum CBD oil is the second most dominant in the US streets and hemp-based shops. It contains all the elements of the hemp plant except THC. Broad-spectrum CBD oil comprises terpenes, flavonoids, THC, and CBD. It is a good option for those wishing to benefit from all the elements of the hemp plant except THC. However, it can only be useful if taken in considerable amounts. High broad-spectrum intake results in THC-related side effects such as anxiety and severe headaches. Therefore, the absence of THC should not be leeway to taking too much broad-spectrum CBD oil.

    Isolate

Isolate CBD oil is unique in broad-spectrum and full spectrum. Isolate CBD contains only one element; CBD. Therefore, it's the best option for those who wish to benefit from CBD. However, high potency levels of isolate CBD oil results in adverse side effects. CBD is the only element in isolate CBD oil, a slight variation in quantities and potency levels would result in THC-related side effects. Also, its health benefits are only limited to CBD-related since its void of terpenes and flavonoids.

How Do I Avoid Getting High From CBD Oil?

There are several ways to avoid CBD oil's "high" effect. First, the concentration you are taking. Use considerable amounts of CBD oil to lower the side effects. Also, avoid using CBD oil alongside other drugs such as smoking marijuana or taking alcohol. Also, the type of CBD oil you are taking matters. However, full-spectrum CBD oil has various health implications, such as reducing stress, pain, and anxiety, and the present results in doubts about its effectiveness. Notably, if you are likely to be exposed to a drug test, full-spectrum CBD oil is not the best option. Consider having broad and isolate CBD but in considerable amounts in considerable amounts. Conclusion

CBD oil can only be beneficial if taken in considerable amounts or used responsibly. However, its health implications are disturbing, including triggering psychoactive effects. The common side effects of CBD oil are anxiety, severe headaches, poor memory, and dry eyes and lips for the external effects. Most of the effects are triggered by THC, a psychoactive element of the hemp plant. However, the side effects are determined by potency and purity levels. The type of CBD oil also contributes to negative health implications. Full-spectrum exposes its users to THC, which is likely to have negative health implications. However, the concentration, body chemistry, and experience also determine the health effects of CBD oil. Therefore, consider talking to a medical expert before using CBD oil.
