The 5 Things you Need to Change in Your Routine to Stay Calm, Cool, and Collected
This year has hit us with a worldwide pandemic, resulting in 3-months worth of isolation, and yet another lockdown on the horizon. If you are currently feeling as if you are losing your chill, do not fret, you are not alone.
Yes, 2020 has been a year filled with uncertainty and unprecedented circumstances (I bet these two terms are ones you never want to hear again until your next lifetime), however this does not mean that maintaining a calm, positive, and healthy routine is impossible. In fact, it is more possible than ever; all it takes is your willingness to do so.
Here are a five practices that you can easily turn into habits, in order to elevate your routine and help you remain calm, cool, and collected:

Although intermittent fasting is all the rave right now, beginning your day with a grounding and adaptogen-infused breakfast may be the best way to keep you calm throughout the day.
Having breakfast is an amazing way to maintain balanced blood sugar levels, most especially if it is made up of wholesome ingredients such as whole grains, nuts and seeds, plant fibre, and healing herbs. This also instantly feeds your brain with fuel, providing you sufficient energy to achieve a productive and successful day. Spiking your breakfast with our adaptogens like Reishi, Ashwagandha, Tulsi help calm the mind and balance the body, helping you start your day on a high.

Move your body
Fitness is hugely beneficial for our mental health, and can help us maintain an optimistic outlook on the daily.
By moving our body, this stimulates the production hormones such as endorphins, which trigger positive feelings and promote happiness. This practice is also empowering as it encourages us to break barriers and challenge both our physical and mental strength. This is an incredible way to beat the worrying thoughts that many of us may be experiencing due to COVID-19.
Write it out
Journalling is underrated, however beyond effective.
There is a growing body of research around journalling that is proving it to be one of the most effective ways to express your emotions. It helps keep your worries and bay and improves your mood by helping you prioritise problems, fears, and concerns, tracking any symptoms day-to-day so that you can recognise triggers and learn ways to better control them and providing an opportunity for positive self-talk and identifying negative thoughts and behaviours.
Journalling is best practiced with pen and paper, and can be done at any time of the day for as long as you need—whether it be 2 minutes, or 2 hours.
The ever-changing rules revolving around what we can and cannot do with regards to social contact and social distancing have only caused confusion amongst the majority, however it does not mean that we cannot find new ways to stay connected.
Connection is more important than ever, as whilst we undergo these unprecedented times (we promise this is the last time you will see this word from us), we must cling on to each other for support.
Connection is an integral part of who we are as a species. In order for us to stay calm, cool, and collected, we must also stay connected. We can do this through regularly FaceTiming friends and family, attending socially distanced picnics or events, and finding ways to encourage each other to grow during these times.
The all important tip—treat yo’self.
This iconic quote now playsan important part in the self care routines of many, and it is a practice that we strongly stand by.
Treating yourself is a positive way of giving back and consciously rewarding yourself for any of your achievements, no matter how big or small. We recommended treating yo’self in ways that can also benefit your mental and physical health.
