As a dedicated user of the SMOK RPM 2, I was eager to explore its performance with the SMOK RPM 2 Replacement Coils, specifically the 0.6ohm DC and 0.16ohm Mesh variants. After several weeks of usage, I'm sharing my hands-on experience to provide fellow vapers with some insights. Here's my candid take on these coils:
The dual-coil setup of the 0.6ohm DC coil was intriguing. The coil seemed to heat up faster and provided a quicker ramp-up time compared to single coils. The vapor production was respectable, delivering a satisfying cloud with a moderate throat hit. I found that this coil worked well with a slightly tighter airflow setting, which enhanced the flavor experience.
The 0.16ohm Mesh coil introduced me to a new dimension of flavor and vapor. The mesh design seemed to distribute heat more evenly, resulting in rich and intense flavor production. The vapor was notably denser compared to the 0.6ohm coil, and the coil handled higher wattages admirably. It seemed to shine with a slightly more open airflow, allowing for smoother draws.
In terms of longevity, the 0.6ohm DC coil held up well for around 10 days of moderate usage. On the other hand, the 0.16ohm Mesh coil exhibited remarkable endurance, lasting for nearly three weeks before a noticeable drop in flavor and vapor production. Keep in mind that usage patterns and e-liquid choices can impact coil life.
Both coils seemed to handle different types of e-liquids without any major issues. From regular e-liquids to nicotine salts, the coils delivered consistent performance and flavor. However, with sweeter or more intense e-liquids, I did notice a slightly quicker buildup of gunk on the coils, which affected their lifespan.
While the 0.16ohm Mesh coil offered exceptional flavor and vapor, it required higher wattages, which could drain the battery faster. Additionally, both coils showed a tendency to occasionally produce dry hits if chain-vaped extensively, prompting me to pace my vaping to avoid this issue.
The SMOK RPM 2 Replacement Coils, both in 0.6ohm DC and 0.16ohm Mesh variations, deliver distinct experiences. The dual-coil option offers quicker ramp-up time and respectable vapor, while the mesh coil elevates flavor and vapor density to new heights. Coil longevity was commendable, though some considerations are needed for extensive vaping and sweeter e-liquids.
As always, personal preferences and usage patterns can vary, so my experience might differ from yours. It's a good practice to experiment and find the coil that best aligns with your vaping style and preferences.
