How Does CBD Cream Help Back Pain

When CBD cream is applied to the skin, it interacts with cannabinoid receptors to ease the pain. This article explains what CBD is, how CBD cream help with back pain, its dosage, and its side effects.

CBD cream has properties that can treat pain in the human body. It is a compound derived from the cannabis sativa plant. It was made legal in the UK due to the therapeutic and health benefits it offers to the body. CBD cream has become a favoriteto consume to reduce pain since it is applied to the affected area alone and offers immediate relief. CBD creams and other CBD topicals, such as lotions, salves, balms, and gels, are applied directly into the skin to relieve pain. CBD can treat back pain, chronic pain, muscle and joint pains, and headaches.

    What Is CBD?

According to McAllister et al. (2015), CBD is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the cannabis sativa plant. It has gained popularity due to the therapeutic and healthy benefits it offers to the body.Individuals can consume CBD in different forms, including CBD edibles, vapes, drinks, and topicals. These methods are safe for human consumption. Their difference is the way they are consumed. CBD has three types: CBD isolates, full spectrum, and broad spectrum. Full-spectrum CBD is mostly used for treating pain and some other conditions due to the amount of THC in them. CBD does not appear on a drug test since it does not contain THC; if any, it is in low amounts.

How Does CBD Cream Help with Back Pain?

According to Rocket al. (2018), CBD has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties making it ideal for treating pain in the body, like back pains. Back pains cause discomfort and can make individuals have difficulties falling asleep. Some people try painkillers like ibuprofen and aspirin to reduce the pain. However, applying CBD cream on the back where the pain is located has resulted in pain relief. Individuals with back pains should apply CBD cream and massage it deeply into the affected area. This will enable the CBD in the CBD cream to be absorbed well into the opened pores of the skin. CBD cream does not enter the bloodstream, so individuals should not worry whether it will make them high or show up on a drug test. The human body has an endocannabinoid system responsible for many bodily functions, including mental and physical activities. It has two receptors, including CB1 and CB2, that play a major role in the human body by sending messages to the ECS. The Endocannabinoid system helps control conditions like pain, sleep, anxiety, depression, immune response, appetite, and stress. When CBD gets absorbed through the pores, it interacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the skin to relieve pain. Aghazadeh Tabrizi et al. (2016) claimed that CBD cream sidesteps these receptors and goes directly toa neurotransmitter inhibiting pain signals and itch by working through 2-AG and anandamide. Bypassing CB2 and CB1 receptors indicates that cannabidiol can relieve pain without high feelings caused by THC. Full spectrum cream is more effective in treating back and other related pains like joint and muscle pains, arthritis pains, cancer-related pain, neuropathic pain, and headaches.

Dosage for CBD Cream for Back Pain

There is no specific dosage for CBD cream for back pain. This is because individuals are different. A small dosage of cream can be effective for one person and fail to be effective for the other person. Individuals can determine the right dosage for them. They are advised to apply CBD cream in small amounts to see how the body responds. When the body reacts well, they should work their way up for at least a week until they get the dosage that treats their pains. They should also consult the doctor to help them determine the dosage to start with.

    Other Benefits of CBD Cream

CBD cream treats arthritis, multiple sclerosis, joint and muscle soreness, and other related pains. Gebashe et al. (2022) suggested that it can treat skin conditions like sunburns, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rashes. It reduces the signs of aging by treating wrinkles leaving individuals with a smooth and youthful appearance. Gut (2019) claimed that CBD cream has hydrating properties that make the skin supple and moisturized. This helps individuals dealing with dry skin.

Side Effects and Safety of Consuming CBD for Back Pain?

The only cannabis drug approved is epidiolex. It treats types of seizures like epilepsy in children. CBD is not regulated, so individuals should be careful to select products of high quality safe for consumption. The side effects include mental confusion, mood swings and irritability, loss or decreased appetite, digestive issues and diarrhea, fatigue, and drowsiness.Chesney et al. (2020) noted that CBD could also cause liver damage, a rare side effect. It happens when individuals consume CBD products of poor quality. CBD interacts with other medications. Individuals should consult the doctor when taking CBD but under medications. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised to avoid CBD products.

Is CBD Cream for Back Pain Legal?

According to Vlad et al. (2020), CBD products are legal in the UK, provided they have less than 0.2% THC. Individuals can buy CBD creams and any other CBD product freely in the UK. It was made legal due to the therapeutic and health benefits it offers to the body. Although CBD is legal in the UK, it is not regulated. Users should be keen when selecting the brand to purchase their product from. It is important to consider the legal status of every state. This is because CBD is not legal in every state. Before traveling to another state with any CBD product, individuals should ensure that the state they travel to is legal. THC is illegal in the UK but is considered legal when used in small amounts below 0.2%. It has psychoactive properties that make individuals feel high.

    Conclusion

CBD is applied directly to the skin to treat pain and inflammatory diseases. Individuals use CBD cream to treat pain because it is only applied to the affected area, and they receive immediate relief. It also does not enter the bloodstream, so individuals are not worried about feeling high or showing up on a drug test. CBD interacts with the cannabinoid receptors hence reducing pain. CBD is more effective in treating pain than other painkillers, such as ibuprofen and aspirin. CBD has potential skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
