    What Is a CBD Vape?

The guide explains CBD and CBD vape juice, types of CBD vape juice, and how CBD vape pens work in vaping CBD. It highlights the benefit of CBD vaping.

CBD overtakes many herbal remedies and medications as a safe compound for combating various health complications without inducing high drug dependency or triggering side effects. There are various ways to take CBD toharness these benefits effectively. They include sublingually placing CBD oil under the tongue, topically applying CBD oil, or ingesting CBD tablets or edibles. However, CBD vaping is the fastest and most convenient method to take CBD. It involves using vaporizers to heat CBD vape juice to produce a vapor inhaled directly into the bodythrough the mouth and lung tissues.

    What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an active chemical compound existing naturally in the Cannabis Sativa plant with over 100 other cannabinoids. It is primarily extracted from hemp plant leaves and flowers containinga high compound concentration. CBD is popular for treating various body discomforts like pain, anxiety, and stress with minimal or no downtime. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is highly associated with a sensation of highness and other kaleidoscopic effects for marijuana users. Boggs et al. (2018) explained that, unlike THC, CBD is a non-psychoactive compound with no mind-altering effects but exhibits health properties such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, analgesic, and adaptogenic effects. Upon extraction, CBD is highly diluted with organic carrier oils to create concentrated CBD oil infused in products like topicals, edibles, tinctures, tablets, and trending vaping devices.

    What Is CBD Vape Juice?

CBD vape juice is e-liquid infused with a pre-determined amount of CBD molecules and housed in vaping devices like a vape pens. It offers a delicious and convenient way to harness the therapeutic effects of CBD by masking the bitter earthyflavor associated with cannabis. Although it is made of CBD as the main active ingredient, it consists of the following three minor ingredients:

    • Vegetable glycerin (VG) - it is common food addictive with a sweet aroma and used for thickening vape juice.
    • Propylene- it has a faintly sweet aroma used for reducing the earthy aroma of cannabis
    • Terpenes: it is mostly added to provide aromatherapy effects.

CBD vape juice is vaporized by vaping devices to produce vapor inhaled directly into the body through the lung tissues. However, standard CBD oil cannot be heated by vaporizers since it is too viscous and dense. Therefore, cannabis industries subject the extracted CBD oil to high pressure to split the cannabinoid molecules to form a less viscous fine liquid.

    Types of CBD Vape Juice

Companies use different CBD extraction methods resulting in three different types of CBD vape juice, namely:

    Isolate CBD

Isolate CBD vape juice is the purest type of e-liquid containing CBD compounds with no contamination from other plant phytochemicals. It is best suited for regular CBD vapers since they contain high potency.

    Full-Spectrum CBD Vape Juice

Full-spectrum CBD vape contains all cannabinoids in the hemp plant, including traces of THC. It is recommended for CBD users who wish to harness additional benefits of other plant cannabinoids and are comfortable with THC presence.

    Broad-Spectrum CBD Vape

It lies in the middle of the other two and comprises almost all plant cannabinoids and terpenes with no contamination of THC. It is the most advisable CBD type to vape since it introduces entourage effects from terpenes and minor cannabinoids without imposing the risk of getting high.

    How CBD Vape Pens Work?

A CBD vape pen is a small electronic device that consists of e-liquid infused with CBD molecules as the main ingredient.  The vaping device consists of three main parts; a battery to heat the atomizer or coil, a cartridge filled with CBD vape juice, and a mouthpiece to inhale the vapor produced. Most vape consists of a button to activate the coil in vaporizing the e-liquid. However, some vapes contain no buttons; therefore, prime puffs can jump-start the battery by heating the coil. All parts work as one-all in [producing CBD vape used to combat various body discomforts.

There are two types of CBD vape pens, namely:

    Refillable Vape Pens

It contains removable batteries and cartridges, which are easily dismantled.  The cartridge can be filled with  CBD vape juice when it runs dry, and the battery can be recharged with a USB charging cable in case of power depletion.

    Disposable CBD Vapes

Disposable CBD vape comprisesa permanently connected cartridge, battery, and mouthpiece. Upon depletion of CBD vape juice, the device is safely disposed of. In addition, unlike refillable vapes, the battery cannot be recharged and is typically draw-activated since there is no switch-on battery.

    Benefits of CBD Vape

There are various ways to take CBD, but vaping is the fastest. It takes approximately 2 to 5 minutes to feel CBD's therapeutic effects. CBD is immediately absorbed into the bloodstream upon vaping, interacting with endocannabinoid system (ECS) receptors and body cannabinoids. According to Corroon et al. (2019), unlike THC, CBD does not bind with ECS receptors but rather increases the production of body cannabinoids like anandamide to bind with the receptors in maintaining body balance.

ECS receptors are located in all body parts, and their interaction with CBD vape can have the following health benefits:

    Boost Mental Clarity and Concentration

Vaping CBD can make you feel motivated, focused, and clear about your actions.

    Boosts Energy

Vaping CBD makes you feel energetic by boosting your body's energy levels. CBD is popular in promoting the body's metabolic rate, whichconverts stored body fat into energy. Therefore, vaping can help in managing healthy body weight.

    Manage Body Pains

According to Boyaji et al. (2020), CBD interacts with CB1 receptors to block the signaling of pain nerve impulses into the central nervous system (CNS), making you feel calm and relieved.

    Helps with Sleep

Stabilize sleeping patternsfor people suffering from sleeping disorders like insomnia. Vaping CBD a few minutes before bed can help reduce body discomforts like anxiety, tiredness, and pain responsible for keeping you awake.

    Manage Anxiety and Stress

CBD has anti-depressant properties that can help manage stressful thoughts and tension, causing high drug dependency associated with taking anti-depressant medication.  According to Sales et al. (2018), CBD interacts with brain neutrons to increase the release of the hormone serotonin, activating happy compounds like dopamine.

    Conclusion

Cannabidiol is a popular cannabinoid that can be taken in many ways. CBD vaping is a quick, discrete, and convenient way to harness the therapeutic benefits of CBD, like alleviating body pains, managing anxiety and stress, treating sleeping disorders, and boosting mental clarity. The Food Standard Agency (FSA) has regarded vaping CBD as a safe herbal remedy for tackling body discomforts with no or minimal downtimes.  A vape pen is a most commonly used device to vaporize CBD vape juice. It is a small electronic device powered by a recharged battery to heat an atomizer in vaporizing CBD e-liquid into an inhalable vape.
