Is CBD Wax Legit in the Uk?

CBD is growing in popularity. Moreover, an increasing number of manufacturers in different sectors, e.g., health, wellness, and beauty, keep incorporating it into their products.

You can get various CBD products, from CBD balm, lotion, serum, and oil. However, you may not be familiar with CBD wax. If you opt to try the wax and are a resident of the UK, you may have a question in mind; Is it legit in the UK? Please read on to get the answer to this and much more.

    What is CBD Wax?

Before understanding what CBD wax is, why not talk about CBD first? This is one of the numerous cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant. The compound does not contain intoxicating properties; thus, you don't have to be worried about getting "high" once you have it. You can take it in the form of a supplement.

Besides, there are numerous purported health benefits of CBD. Such include pain relief, reduced inflammation, reduced anxiety and stress, reduced acne, and much more. The strongest available evidence on CBD suggests that it can help treat epilepsy. The others are still in their initial stages and hence require more research. Notably, you can have either topical or oral CBD to achieve these health claims.

You can obtain CBD in different forms and products, such as oil. CBD wax is also an example. It is a form of concentrated CBD and has a wax-like appearance. Importantly, the potency level of CBD wax is high, thanks to how it is produced. Therefore, taking amounts of this CBD product translates to relatively high doses of the compound.

Are you wondering how CBD wax is made? This product is a result of extracting the Cannabidiol, CBD, from the hemp plant, after which you heat it to the point it forms a substance resembling wax. Notably, the resulting CBD wax and its properties differ depending on the heat applied. Let us see the different types of CBD waxes.

    Types of CBD Wax

    As already mentioned, different types of CBD waxes have different properties depending on the heat applied to the CBD. They include;

    CBD Budder

Wakshlag et al. (2020) revealed that CBD has a consistency almost similar to that of butter and is formed when the CBD is heated under very high temperatures. It has a smooth texture.

    CBD Shatter

Refined and clean CBD is very hard and brittle and can easily shatter or break.

    CBD Crumble

CBD crumble almost similar to CBD shatter, especially in how it is made, but it is more prone to crumbling.

    CBD Live Resin

Lo (2022) suggested that CBD live resin is generally the best of the different CBD waxes as it is obtained from live plants (frozen, not dried) and has more of a natural flavor than its counterparts.

    How to Use CBD Wax

CBD products are mostly available as oral and topical products. If you are a CBD fanatic, you may be well acquainted with the other ways to take CBD, such as dabbing. This is the most common technique of taking the wax.

CBD waxing is the process through which the wax is heated or applied on a hot surface in a way that the CBD vaporizes to allow you to inhale it. The wax does not get burnt in this method. So, you will need to take a "dab" of the CBD wax and place it over a heat source, such as a vape pen. The result of its heating is the formation of vapors that you inhale. Berg et al. (2020) suggested that you could take CBD wax through vaporizing.

Is CBD Wax Legit in the UK?

Health food manufacturers and shops in the UK can sell various CBD products, from capsules, edibles, oils, and sprays. You may not be very familiar with CD wax.

Cannabis is one of the substances under control in different states and lands. There are different legislation regarding the same. It is important you first confirm if it is prohibited in your country or not before you purchase any CBD product. This is also the case with its products, such as CBD wax. While some consider it legal, others may consider it illegal. Therefore, if you live in the UK and want to give CBD wax a shot, this is one of the things to keep in mind. CBD wax is legal in the UK.

Blebea (2022) suggested that any CBD extract or derivatives with THC contents below 0.2% are considered legal. This level differs from US laws which allow for up to 0.3% levels of THC in CBD products. Therefore, ensure you purchase from a reliable supplier who ensures that these THC levels are well maintained in their products. Moreover, the CBD wax must be produced from an approved industrial hemp strain.

However, CBD is under no control in the UK; therefore, you can freely purchase and use its products, such as wax. However, since cannabis is under control, ensure the CBD wax you have does not smell or look like one of the prohibited cannabis products.

Apart from medically prescribed CBD, consumer CBD such as CBD wax, is legal in the UK under these two circumstances; the THC levels are less than 0.2%, and the CBD is obtained from an industrial hemp strain approved. However, it can only be illegal for children under the age of 18 years. The parents can purchase CBD products for them. Also, it is prohibited if the THC levels are more than required.

    Conclusion

CBD is continually gaining popularity and is available in different forms. However, one of the CBD products you may not be familiar with is CBD wax, which has very high concentrations of the compound. It is available in different types with varying properties depending on the heat applied. You can apply it through one of the most common techniques, dabbing, which involves heating and vaporizing the CBD. It doesn't get it burnt, though, as in the case of smoking. Furthermore, if you live in the UK, you can safely use CBD wax as it is legal, provided it has THC levels below 0.2 % and the industrial hemp strain from which it is obtained is approved.
