What is the U.S Hemp Authority?

The United States Hemp Authority is an independent self-regulatory organization that governs the domestic hemp industry. The U.S Hemp Authority is an organization founded by Kentucky, a state popularly known for high-quality industrial hemp cultivation. Atif et al. (2020) stated that they supply most of the CBD to all relevant parts of the world until it reaches the consumer. The organization started working in 2016 with the Kentucky Hemp Industry Coalition. Their main aim was to develop industry standards for producing and processing industrial hemp as an agricultural product. The Kentucky hemp industry coalition formed the U.S Hemp Authority to keep regulations governing the production and usage of hemp in check. They also regulate some guidelines that may be detrimental to the hemp industry because of cannabis's illegal history.

The organization featured thirty hemp industries; later, other organizations joined them. Among these organizations were the Hemp Industries Association and   National Help Association. Each organization produces a qualified representative who takes place in documenting of cultivation and documenting of hemp.

After the guidance was released to relevant people and gave feedback, the U.S Hemp Round table released an official statement proving that they are known as the U.S. Hemp Authority's Guidance Procedures. This group's main aim was to fund the establishment of the U.S. Hemp Authority. The United States Hemp Authority was a new organization with complete board members and directors. The guidance procedures were updated several times, and currently, the certification program is using version three (3.0), deployed in 2020.
