How Long Does CBD Vape Stay in Your Body?

Several factors affect how long CBD vape stays in the body. They include body weight, how frequently one vapes, and body metabolism. This article highlights, what is CBD vape, how CBD is stored in the body, how the body process CBD vaping, what affects how long CBD vapes last in the body, and if CBD vaping is legal.

CBD is an active chemical compound existing naturally in the cannabis plant, extracted mainly from the leaves or flowers of the hemp plant. It has grown popular in the past years, mainly as a supplement. It is available in various forms in the market, including Vape Cannabidiol. Most people prefer CBD vaping since its effects are instant and more effective. The lungs' capillaries absorb the CBD molecules straight to the bloodstream, and in 2 minutes, CBD power kicks in. However, there is a lot of confusion and misunderstood information about taking CBD in vaping. The common question many ask is how long it takes for the effects of CBD vaping to disappear.

How Long Does CBD Vape Stay in Your Body?

    What Is CBD Vape?

CBD vapes are CBD-infused products used in e-cigarettes, whereby CBD oil is vaporized and inhaled into the lungs and the bloodstream. After effects kick in, they usually can stay in the bloodstream for 5 to 7 hours. They are eliminated from the system quicker than other consumption methods since also their effects are felt earlier.

How the Body Processes CBD Vape

To understand how CBD vape last in their system, it is crucial to know how it interacts with the body. Cooray et al. (2020) noted that upon inhaling the compound, it enters the bloodstream and interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is responsible for maintaining the body's balance. ECS contains body cannabinoids and receptors which regulate a person's moods and alleviate pain, stress, and anxiety. The body cannabinoids are distributed in all body parts and bind with receptors (CB1 &CB2) to take action. Afterward, it is dissolved by body enzymes. CBD does not necessarily bind with the receptors but enhances the production of body cannabinoids and prevents their dissolving, thus prolonging the action for efficient results. Lastly, CBD has antidepressant properties that increase the serotonin hormone, which helps control mind stress. High concentrations of serotonin lower stress thoughts.

How Is CBD Stored in Your Body?

After extraction of CBD from cannabis plants is diluted by carrier oils such as coconut and MCT since it is fat soluble. CBD doesn't dissolve in water; therefore, it requires fat to facilitate its absorption in the body. Upon ingestion, CBD is stored in fat cells, which can remain detectable for days or weeks, depending on an individual's body chemistry. Fortunately, few organizations and employers care if their workers consume the non-oxidant drug to relieve their stress or pain; hence there is no testing protocol for CBD.

What Affects How Long CBD Vapes Last in the Body

In normal circumstances, CBD vaping can last in the body for 5 to 7 hours, but this range differs with a person. For some individuals, the compound vaped can stay in the bloodstream for days and weeks depending on the following factors:

    CBD Dosage

It is not a surprise that the quantity of CBD one takes affects how long it stays in the bloodstream. The higher the doses a person takes, the longer their body processes and holds CBD.

How Frequently Do You Take CBD Vape?

How often one takes the supplement plays a crucial role in the time CBD stays in the body. When a person inhales the compound frequently, it builds up in the body and the accumulation results in body fat cells absorbing the mix since it is fat soluble. For this reason, if not broken down, it can remain in body fat for a prolonged period. Additionally, CBD prevents the dissolving of body cannabinoids by Enzymes; hence the more it is used, the more body cannabinoids accumulate in the bloodstream; therefore, if taken less often, the body enzymes clear it out of your body quickly.

    Body Weight

One already knows CBD dissolves in fat; thus, people with a high percentage of body mass are highly associated with fat accumulation in their muscles. CBD tends to dissolve in the stored body fat. Medical studies show that when two people with different weights took the exact CBD dosage, the one with low body weight, CBD effects disappeared an hour earlier than the other.

    Metabolic Rate and Age

Young people who take CBD vaping experience the effects faster and leave the system in a few hours compared to the elderly. Compared to older people, a high body metabolic rate characterizes young people; thus, CBD compounds are quickly broken down. Moreover, increased metabolic rate prevents CBD from being absorbed by fat cells.

    Lifestyles

How an individual spends a day can determine the period CBD lasts in their body. If one has an active lifestyle like fitness, exercises, demanding jobs, etc., their system processes CBD vaping faster. It leaves the system quicker since the more active one is, the higher the metabolic rate and fat breakdown. Nonetheless, eating habits can also have an impact. For example, if one vapes CBD while eating fat-enriched dishes, expect a significant accumulation of CBD in the body.

    Is CBD Vaping Legal?

CBD vaping is legal. There is a big difference between CBD vapes and THC e-cigarettes; Casajuana et al. (2018) stated that THC is a famous compound that causes psychoactive effects like confusion and highness. THC is vaping last in the body for longer than the latter; therefore, it is illegal for children under 21. According to Abernethy(2019), in 2018, the farm bill legalized the growth, distribution, and selling of CBD-infused products, including CBD vaping. Additionally, CBD vape oils come in three types: full-spectrum, isolate, and broad-spectrum. Maayah et al. (2020) stated that full-spectrum might contain some traces of THC higher than recommended level (less than 0.3%); thus, the type can fall under illegal supplements. CBD isolate is pure and broad spectrum and has no THC content; therefore, they are legal and approved by FDA for consumption

     Conclusion

There is no research to precisely answer how long vaped CBD lasts in the body. Estimation shows that it can clear the system for about 5 to 7 hours after one dose, but regular vaping can take several days, depending on various factors. These factors include your lifestyle, how much dosage one vapes and how often they take, their daily routines like eating habits, and CBD types. Additionally, different people react differently to the effects of CBD. Therefore, the period the compound can stay in the body can differ in terms of age, weight, and metabolic rate of a person.
