Do You Know That Turmeric and CBD Oil Combination Is Good for You?

A combination of CBD oil and turmeric can potentially aid in reducing inflammation, but more research is necessary. You can take it directly under your mouth, in your food, drinks, or in capsules.

CBD is popular among many manufacturers and users. Its purported benefits range from aiding with pain relief to relaxation and reducing inflammation. However, research on CBD is still ongoing. The drugs’ health-related benefits have led to the development of unique ways of incorporating them into daily routines. The current article discusses the health and therapeutic benefits of combining CBD oil with turmeric. Notably, the two compounds have common health benefits that can work together to provide a wide range of benefits.

Do You Know That Turmeric and CBD Oil Combination Is Good

    What Is CBD Oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a product of CBD with base oil. The cannabis derivative is an active ingredient of the Cannabis sativa plant. It has no intoxicating properties, meaning it offers benefits without leaving you feeling high. The compound has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, the product reduces pain, anxiety, and depression among certain health disorders (Evans, 2020).

CBD is currently infused in many everyday products for maximum benefits. It is no wonder CBD oil is combined with turmeric due to its shared properties.

    What is Turmeric?

Turmeric is an Indian-based spice obtained from the roots of Curcuma longa plant. It has a deep yellow color and an earthy taste. The spice contains over 100 vital compounds. Turmeric is not only used as an ingredient for cooking but as a medicinal herb. It was an Indian traditional medicine with a compound called curcumin, known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory abilities (Singletary, 2020). Moreover, studies associate turmeric with pain relief. Therefore, you can use it to reduce pain in areas like the knee.

CBD Oil and Turmeric; Turmeric CBD Oil

The number of companies combining the two natural remedies, CBD oil, and turmeric, for their healing properties is increasing. As aforementioned, both compounds can treat pain and inflammation. Atalay et al. (2020) reported that CBD properties suppress pain and inflammation. Similarly, Labban et al. (2014) opined that turmeric reduces acute inflammation. There are capsules made by combining CBD oil and turmeric. Since both possess anti-inflammatory properties, the combination is good for helping reduce your inflammation.

However, it is still not unclear yet how these two combine. Furthermore, turmeric is hydrophobic and hard to absorb due to its molecules that stick together when in contact with water. On the other hand, CBD is not easily absorbed without base oil.

How to Take CBD Oil and Turmeric

    The following are some of the ways you can add it to your routine;

    Take it Directly

This is one of the most effective ways of taking turmeric CBD oil. Like CBD tinctures, you can have the dropper and pop in a few drops under your tongue, then let it settle for a minute then swallow. If you want the fastest effects from the combination, take it sublingually; the oil does not need to get to your digestive system. This also means you won’t lose some of the beneficial compounds.

    In Foods

Adding this combination to your food is not as effective as adding it to base oil and taking it directly. Once you prepare your food with this combination, it must travel through your digestive system before absorption. Your system has digestive acids and enzymes that can eliminate a portion of CBD before absorption. Once the remaining CBD gets to the walls of your intestines, it metabolizes before it gets to the rest of your body. Therefore, taking the combination in food has a slower absorption rate and is less reliable. However, you can't ignore the taste turmeric adds to your food. In Drinks

You can drop in the combination of CBD oil and turmeric in your favorite beverage to kick-start your day. Be sure it will add to the taste.

Since most drinks have low-fat levels, the absorption will be slower compared to when you add some oil to the combination and consume it. Learn more about is cbd oil addictive?

    Capsules

This is yet another way of getting the combination into your system. However, just like taking CBD oil and turmeric in foods, having a capsule with the contents means having it go down your digestive system first. The capsules will not offer the effects compared to directly taking the combination with oils. The absorption is faster in the mucous membranes compared to the digestive system.

    Conclusion

CBD oil has many health benefits, from helping with inflammation to reducing anxiety and pain. Similarly, turmeric is a spice with medicinal application, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Since these two have some properties in common, companies combine them in their products for maximum benefits to the end user. However, the research on CBD is still ongoing. Additionally, the two work differently, and it is still unclear how beneficial combining them is. You can introduce turmeric and CBD oil into your routine by dropping them directly under your tongue, adding them to your foods and drinks, or taking them through capsules.
