Does CBD Oil Contain Any Compound of THC?

The cannabis industry is fast-growing, and new compounds and products are emerging. THC is one of the major cannabinoids in hemp plants, associated with the ‘high' effect. Some consumers wish to avoid these effects or are due for a drug test. So, does CBD oil contain THC? This article delves deeper into this compound, highlighting its benefits and side effects.

This query is the main concern to many people who have been using CBD products or plan to use CBD products. The THC compound fears many because its psychoactive gives the user a high intoxicating effect. The people who want to use CBD oils and its related products want to exploit the benefits of the cannabis plant without feeling high or intoxicated.

Not all CBD products you will find on the market will be 100% free of the THC compound. A person cannot notice it easily, and knowing how to distinguish this requires you to have background information on the whole CBD oils and their products.

CBD is derived from the hemp or cannabis sativa plant. This CBD extract may contain up to levels of 0.3% only. It is the only required and allowed by law for any CBD oils and their related products. CBD can only be extracted from the marijuana plant source, which is allowed to have any levels of the THC compound. However, you cannot access this type of CBD oil everywhere unless in places where it is legal. People use this type of CBD oil for recreational reasons only.

Types of CBD oils that will determine if these oils will contain any THC.

    Examples of CBD oils include

Does CBD Oil Contain Any Compound of THC?

    Full-Spectrum CBD

This formulation contains all the CBD products, including terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids. It is associated with the entourage effects due to the presence of all these elements. This full-spectrum CBD will contain the THC levels that the leaves may have produced.

    Broad-Spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum CBD contains all the CBD compounds and terpenes compounds but does not contain any THC compounds. This formulation is ideal for consumers who wish to benefit from the elements of cannabis plants while avoiding THC.

    CBD Isolate

CBD isolate oil is the purest form of all the CBD oils because it only contains the CBD compound. It does not contain other cannabinoids, terpenes, or THC compounds.

According to  Marinotti & Sarill (2020), CBD isolate might be the best CBD oil to use because it contains CBD only. However, it is not that recommendable for use. This concentrated example of CBD oils does not isolate and get to be fully metabolized by the body because it stands alone without the other crucially important compounds the body can use. According to Maaya et al.(2020), when a person uses full-spectrum CBD oils, they have more advantages and more efficient health benefits than the CBD isolate, which only contains the CBD compound. Earlier, some companies manufactured CBD products with a higher THC content, but the production efficiency improved as the market developed and the industries grew. All the companies working in the production line of CBD oils and their products do not produce more than 0.3% THC.

The Effective Pattern Of The CBD Oils Without The THC

People can use any of the three CBD oils examples depending on their preference and the health problems they want to take care of. According to Hazekamp (2018),  CBD can subdue the effects of THC, while THC can also boost the effects and benefits of CBD to the body once a person uses it. These two compounds, CBD and THC, work by binding to the receptors in the body. They bind to the CB1 receptors in the body. The THC will activate the mechanism of the receptors while the CBD will inhibit it; thus, the two have antagonistic effects on each other. The amounts of THC present are unlikely to produce any effects that can be compared to the CBD effects.

Also, a person may be interested in using the product combination of both THC and CBD. It would be best if a person chose a high CBD and low THC combination to start with. Finding the best combination that works for a person may take some time, or they may prefer to use THC alone. According to Solowij et al.(2019), a person may need to avoid a combination of high THC and low CBD because this will have a more intoxicating effect than using the THC alone. The high products of the compound THC will not be as effective in use as when combined.

Traces of THC on a Drug Test

According to Czégény et al. (2021),  THC compound will not appear in a drug test once conducted because the CBD product will not be 100% free of THC. Only traces can be found here that can cause no harm to you. But if you want to ensure that your use does not contain any THC, a person can use the CBD isolate products. The CBD also does not appear in the urine when performing a drug test. THC is the one that is tested for in the urine drug test, and it will appear depending on the frequency of use of the products that contain THC. It means that a person may use the THC products and will never reflect even if they have a drug test if they use it in minimal cases. The THC also might not appear on the drug test if a person uses minimal amounts of CBD products that may have THC contents like full-spectrum CBD oils.

    Conclusion

There is little or no concentration level of THC in CBD products. It depends on which plant the CBD was extracted from. It will contain 0.3% or less if extracted from the hemp plant. And if it were obtained from the marijuana plant, the CBD oil would contain much more THC. The CBD isolate derivative does not contain any THC components. CBD alone cannot ruin a drug test unless there are some present traces of THC in the body. If you want to avoid this, it is better to use products made from CBD isolate. This two THC and CBD are the most common cannabinoids. The THC compound will produce intoxicating effects, while the CBD does not have any intoxicating effects. But both of them have medicinal effects if you decide to use them both or one of them. Learn more about cbd oil for joint pain
