How Long Do I Have to Wait Until I Feel the Effects of Vaping CBD?

Vaping is the easiest way to take CBD. Delivery of CBD into the bloodstream is almost instant, and the effect can be felt after 20 minutes for an average person with average body weight, faster metabolism, and low tolerance to CBD. For those new to vaping, this article will guide you to choose the vape pens of your liking and how to get the maximum benefit from CBD.

Vaping is relatively new and is becoming a trend in both taking CBD and for recreational purposes; thus, asking how long one should wait to feel the effect of CBD is a common question. Knowing how vaping works and the different vape pens available will help answer that question best. Those new to vaping will also get insight into how vaping works and where to start. Vaping CBD and smoking hemp plant leaves and flowers are the same methods of taking CBD, but they work very differently.

    Cannabidiol

Cannabidiol, CBD, is a natural compound in cannabis plants, especially hemp. The standard methods of extraction are solvent and alcohol extraction. The extracted crude CBD undergoes winterization and distillation for purification. The CBD is further processed into full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate CBD bases used to make products like CBD gummies, oil, capsules, and vapes.

    What is Vaping?

Vaping is the act of vaporizing CBD oil or hemp plant leaves and buds, usually in a vape pen, to inhale it. The vape pens have a battery and coil which heats the oil in the tank turning it into vapor. You will need a vaporizer if you don’t have a vape pen. Before vaping, you must turn on the vape pen by long pressing the power button. You will also take at least 5-10 minutes between every puff. Some vape pens are rechargeable.

    Types of Vape Pens

    Cartridge Vape Pens

These are vape pens whose tanks can be refilled or replaced. Once the oil has depleted, you should refill your tank if your cartridge is refillable or remove the tank and replace it with a new one. However, replacing the cartridge is more expensive than refilling it.

    Dry Herb Vape Pens

This vape pen is specifically meant for dry hemp plant leaves and flowers. The coil heats the dry herbs producing vapor and not smoke. This can be a better choice if you want to enjoy the benefit of the hemp plant compounds like CBG.

    CBD Pod Vapes

CBD pod vapes come with a replaceable pod cartridge, a disposable one with an internal battery, and a refillable pod cartridge.

    Benefits of Vaping

Vaping does not emit smoke like smoking. Therefore, vaping is safe from toxic smoke and is also discrete. Smoking is restricted in most public areas because of the effects of the smoke on non-smokers. You can vape in these areas without making people uncomfortable.

Vaping is a faster way to get CBD into your system. After inhaling the vapor, it is immediately absorbed into the bloodstream with oxygen. It takes at least 20 minutes for one to feel the effect of CBD. In the inhalation method, CBD takes a relatively shorter distance when compared to the other methods. Vaping is the best method to use when looking for a quick fix.

     Side Effects of Vaping

Generally, vaping is considered safe because there is no smoke. However, you can experience some coughing, dry mouth and throat, headaches, shortness of breath, and irritation in the mouth and throat.

    Are CBD Vapes Legal?

One of the setbacks of CBD products is the prejudice against cannabis plants. Whenever a cannabis plant subject is brought up, people think of marijuana. Marijuana is common because of the THC compound that induces a high feeling which, according to Arkell et al. (2019), can lead to impaired judgment. The difference between marijuana and hemp plant is the amount of CBD and THC. In marijuana, there is more THC than CBD; in the hemp plant, there is more CBD than THC. According to Salehi et al. (2022), CBD products are legal in the USA if the THC range is 0.3%. In EU countries, they allow a limit of 0.2%THC. You can find the THC percentage on the product label or its certificate of analysis.

    Other Methods of Taking CBD

    Sublingual Method

The sublingual method involves placing drops of oil under the tongue and holding them for a minute to allow absorption. The capillaries in the sublingual layer absorb the CBD into the bloodstream. The effect can be felt after 30 minutes.

    Ingestion Method

In the ingestion method, CBD undergoes metabolism before being absorbed into the bloodstream. This method involves taking CBD gummies and capsules or adding CBD oil to meals and drinks. You can search the internet for recipes to help you cook with CBD. The ingestion method is slower even if you have a faster metabolism.

    Topical Method

This method is for CBD products meant for external use only. The products include balms and beauty products. Applying CBD topicals to the affected area of your skin, massaging a little bit, and allowing absorption can have various therapeutic benefits. You can topically use CBD oil by applying it to your neck and forehead.

    Use of CBD Vapes

CBD has various claimed medicinal benefits. Maaiah et al. (2021) concluded that CBD plays a role in alleviating pain and inflammation, soothing mental health disorders like stress and anxiety, and aiding in sleep patterns. Gu et al. (2019) explained that CBD can be used to treat rare genetic seizures like Lennox gastaut.

    Conclusion

In vaping, CBD enters the bloodstream almost instantly. Depending on your tolerance to CBD, body weight, and metabolism, you can experience the effect of CBD after 15 minutes. This method is best when looking for a quick fix, i.e., for stress and anxiety. There are various vape pens, such as refillable and disposable ones. For a vape pen to work, it should have a battery and coil that will vaporize the oil or herbs in the tank. Modern vape pens have rechargeable batteries that are activated by drawing. Vaping does not emit any smoke like smoking. You can also take CBD using sublingual, ingestion, and topical methods.
