Vaping 101: How Much CBD Should I Add to Vape Juice?

Welcome to the Vaping 101 column, designed for beginners and vapers at a more intermediate level. For the first topic, I'd like to bring attention to something that can help with the success rate of new vapers: adding CBD to the juice. This article explains why an individual can add CBD to vape juice and the advantages and disadvantages, among other aspects.

CBD, which is in full stands for cannabidiol, is one of the more than 100 compounds found in the hemp plant. Its use comes after passing the 2018 farm bill, which allowed industrial hemp use in some states. The requirement was that they comply with the FDA rules and federal law.

    Type of Hemp Products

    Full-Spectrum

Wakshlag et al. (2020) explained that this product contains essential components such as flavonoids, terpenes, and cannabidiol. The amount of TCH is minimal, which constitutes about 0.3%. It is as per the federal laws; a contradiction to this may lead to arrest and prosecution. This type is believed to cause the 'entourage effect, 'a synergetic feeling associated with CBD ingestion.

    Broad Spectrum and CBD Isolate

The broad spectrum contains all the elements in the full range except THC. If one wants to feel the benefits of other compounds but not necessarily that of THC, then the broad spectrum is the correct dose for them. On the other hand, CBD isolate contains CBD as the main compound. Rudroff & Sosnoff (2018) explained that CBD isolate is preferred by people who only want the health benefits of CBD but are avoiding other compounds.

Propylene Glycol (Pg) & Vegetable Glycerin (Vg),

With so many different bases from propylene glycol (PG) & vegetable glycerin (VG), how simple is it to figure out how much CBD vape juice one needs? If one is the type that likes to mix up some flavors or make your e-liquid, they will need to know how much CBD vape liquid to add to their base. It can be confusing, especially if one ends up with too little or too much - after all, they will not want them wasting any of it.

    Dosage

If you are new to vaping, it can be intimidating to figure out the proper CBD dosage for an individual's needs. Vaping CBD is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to get the daily dose of cannabidiol. All one has to do is fill up a tank with some e-juice, pop in their favorite cartridge, and hit the button. Within seconds, they will inhale vaporized cannabinoids that quickly hit your bloodstream through absorption into the lungs.

    However, there's a lot more to vaping than that. Before an individual start vaping, they need to know how much CBD should be in each puff. One also needs to know how much vape juice they should use per day and how long it takes for the body to absorb the cannabidiol from your lungs and bloodstream into its system. Although different people might have other starting points, it's advised and recommended that one start with at least 10 mg per serving. It depends on how long one has used CBD and their body tolerance, but the minimum one should start with is 10mg. Many aspects should be considered while choosing a personal dosage, and such include;

    Amount

Ross (2021) explained that CBD is a potent antioxidant that can help speed healing. It also has anti-anxiety, sleep-inducing, and pain-relieving properties. These are all great things, but they can come at the expense of flavor. If you're vaping CBD e-liquid for its health benefits, adding too much may be counterproductive. CBD oil is made from hemp plants (low in THC), containing more than 100 compounds and terpenes that can affect the taste. So, less is more when vaping CBD oil with favorite e-liquid flavors. One will probably have better luck if they use a higher concentration of CBD oil and mix it with a lower concentration of THC (or other cannabinoids). That way, one will enjoy the benefits without sacrificing taste.

    Type of Vape Pen

The type of vape pen one has and how often one uses it is a matter to be considered. If one has a high-end vape pen with variable wattage and temperature control, one can experiment with different amounts of CBD oil until they find one that works for them. Ott et al. (2021) explained that, however, if their vape pen has just one setting (usually low), it's best to start with a small amount of CBD oil until one gets used to it. If the taste or flavor is too strong for your liking, try lowering or increasing the power setting until it tastes right.

What Are the Best Vape Pens for CBD Oil?

The best vape pens for taking CBD oil are usually made by companies producing vaporizers or e-cigarettes; thus, they know what they're doing. They typically have adjustable heat settings and are longer. There's no "one size fits all" in this area. Everyone's body chemistry is different, as are their specific opinions on how CBD should be consumed. One must remember only one thing: start small and work your way up. Remember, too, that CBD vape juice with 300-400mg of CBD can provide excellent pain relief without any psychoactive effects—so keep that in mind when trying these recipes out for yourself!

    Conclusion

The ultimate question remains: What is the right amount of CBD in vape juice? Through experiments, individuals are recommended to find the correct dosage that works for them. Because vaping CBD is a relatively new phenomenon, there haven't been any studies on dosages with vaping specifically. However, many experts agree that, as with edibles, one should start low, slow, and work gradually until they find the correct dose. That way, one will avoid any unpleasant side effects and eventually be able to quit using all prescription medications and manage their pain naturally with CBD.
