What are the Downsides of CBD Vaping?

CBD vaping is considered the most effective way of consuming CBD. However, it has some downsides, which include drowsiness. This article highlights the downsides of CBD vaping, including nausea, red eyes, and drowsiness.

CBD is not approved for medical use, but it has proved to be a reliable natural remedy for different health conditions, such as pain relief, alleviation of anxiety and stress, and improving sleep. Epidiolex is the only CBG drug approved by the food and drug administration. The amount/dosage of CBD taken, despite the mode of administration, will depend on the reason. CBD on its own does not have the psychoactive effect since it works by binding the  CB1 and  CB2 receptors. Although  CBD  though vaping, has an immediate effect, it has diverse side effects.

What are the Downsides of CBD Vaping?

     What is CBD?

Cannabidiol is a chemical compound found in the cannabis or hemp plant. It came into the market because of its associated health effects. Tetrahydrocannabinol, THC, is also extracted from the cannabis plant, and it is popular because of its psychoactive effect; it gives the users a high feeling.

THC and CBD are two of more than 100 chemical compounds in the cannabis Sativa plant. CBD from the hemp plant contains little THC, although the legal amount of THC should be less than 0.3%. CBD is found in three types, namely CBD isolate, full-spectrum CBD, and broad-spectrum CBD. The full spectrum of CBD contains all the plant's compounds, including THC, which alters the consumer's mental state. Therefore, when they use the product with this type of CBD will benefit from all the compounds since it is less processed to retain more content. CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD, and it comes in powder form or clear crystal. It does not contain the natural ingredients of cannabis plants or any additives. Broad-spectrum CBD contains all the natural compounds of the plant except THC. Therefore, users of the products with this type of product benefit from all the effect compounds but do not have a high feeling of the property of THC. According to Hammell et al. (2016), CBD is infused in many skin care products because of its anti-inflammatory property since it can be used to treat skin conditions such as eczema, acne, and psoriasis. CBD can be taken into the body through vaping, topicals, edibles, and sublingual.

     CBD Edibles

CBD edibles can be found in gummies, truffles, and mints. This is the bests and most discrete way to start CBD if you are a beginner because they can mask the weedy taste. It can also be used by people who do not want to have an immediate effect of CBD, and this is because it takes longer, up to 2 hours. CBD taken through edibles is subjected to a first-pass effect where it is digested and broken down into the liver, limiting the amount of CBD absorbed into the body to about 20 to 30%.

    Sublingual

Sublingual CBD products are designed in a way that they have absorbed under the tongue, for example, tinctures. Tinctures are solutions from soaked cannabis flowers into spay, alcohol, or oils.

    CBD Topicals

Topical CBD is designed to be used on the skin surface only. They are effective and can be used to treat certain skin conditions. CBD is infused in lotions, oils, balms, salves, and patches, thus good in treating eczema, acne, and pain since it can be applied s direct to the area.

    Vaping

Vaping is considered the best and most healthy way to take marijuana compared to smoking, where cannabis is subjected to full combustion; therefore, it might not be safe, especially for the lungs. Vaping involves the use of cartridges filled with e-liquids or CBD oil which is inhaled into the lungs.

Bioavailability is the amount of CBD absorbed in the body and is effective. Vaping allows CBD to be directly absorbed into the bloodstream; thus, the user can feel the effects faster. Therefore, has a high bioavailability of about 56%.

The vape pens are divided into two: refillable and disposable. Refillable vape pens with a battery atomizer are refilled when the e-liquid is over. The disposable vape pens are filled with e-liquids that deplete after more than 100 puffs. They have a small cloud effect compared to refillable vape pens.

     Dosage of Vaping

Vaping has no exact dosage; it cannot be prescribed as other medicines, although research has confirmed that CBD has health effects on the human body. However, the dosage of CBD vaping is determined by the reasons for using CBD, which can be medical purposes or tolerance. For example, people who want to treat pain and inflammation using CBD take 20- 30 puffs daily. However, some can have up to 100 puffs daily. This is because the those who are used to it.

Whichever form you are taking CBD, you should consider starting a small dosage and then gradually increasing it. When vaping, also start low as 2-3 puffs wat for about two hours before taking another one as you try to feel the effect; this will help you know the exact dosage you need.

     How Does CBD Work

CBD taken through vaping immediately affects the body since it is directly absorbed. The human body contains the cannabinoid receptors lovcet3ed in the central nervous system in the body.

CBD works by binding the CB1 and  CB2 receptors and thus does not have psychoactive effects on the brain like  THC. CBD  through vaping is best for people who want to feel an immediate effect. Studies also show that it is widely used by people who want to quit smoking.

     Side Effects of CBD Vaping

Vaping is a new phenomenon, and less information is known about the side effects. According to Lamb et al. (2016), CBD vaping is considered healthy than smoking. However, there are some related risks, such as causing drowsiness. Other side effects include euphoria, increased appetite, and eye reddening. More research must be done to unveil the effects CBD vaping can cause on the body. Since the content of the CBD is directly taken to the lungs.

    Conclusion

Vaping is considered healthy compared to smoking, and thus many people use it to quit smoking. You should choose the right product for you since the vaping area is designed based on the type of CBD used, for example, broad-spectrum CBD vape juice, full-spectrum CBD vape juice, and isolate CBD vape juice. The dosage of CBD vapes will depend on the reason for taking the compound and the body's tolerance. Although there are common side effects of  CBD vaping, such as dry mouth, there is a need for further studies on the long-term side effects.
