    Basics On CBD Oil

CBD oil is extracted from the flowers and seeds of the hemp plant. When consumed, it does not contain any psychoactive properties; thus, it cannot make an individual feel high. The substance that makes an individual high is mainly found in marijuana and is called tetrahydro cannabidiol, unlike hemp, which has more CBD than THC. CBD oil has gained popularity and is used for medical purposes like alleviating pains and inflammation and reducing anxiety and disorders, among others. CBD oil can be found in different forms in terms of potencies and concentration. They can be in full-spectrum CBD oil, Broad spectrum CBD oil, and isolate CBD oil. Full-spectrum CBD oil contains all the hemp plant compounds, including terpenes, THC, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids like CBN and CBT. When consumed, it can make an individual feel high. Broad-spectrum CBD oil contains all the compounds from a hemp plant but no THC. CBD isolate oil contains only CBD as it is void of other plant compounds.

    What is Fibromyalgia

It is a condition that results in pain all over an individual’s body and is accompanied by sleep problems, mental and emotional distress, and fatigue. Most people affected by this condition are women and tend to be more sensitive to pain than men. The main causes of this condition are yet to be established, but individuals can manage them through some treatments.

    Signs and Symptoms of Fibromyalgia

    • Tiredness and fatigue
    • Anxiety and depression
    • Stiffness and widespread pain
    • Sleep problems
    • Migraines and headaches

    Risk Factors for Fibromyalgia

    Rheumatoid Arthritis

Individuals with this kind of arthritis are more likely to develop Fibromyalgia than those who don't.

    Age

Fibromyalgia affects people of all ages, while women are more likely affected than men. But most individuals are diagnosed in their middle age, making them susceptible to Fibromyalgia when they grow older.

    CBD Oil for Fibromyalgia

The information about CBD oil for pain and inflammation reduction in individuals with Fibromyalgia is anecdotal; individuals across the world still use CBD oil for the same reason and for other benefits. Tzadok & Ablin (2020) explained that the consumption of CBD oil help in the reduction of glial cell activity. Increased reaction to sensation can be observed in individuals with Fibromyalgia due to the cell over-reactivity and as one symptom of Fibromyalgia. Khaleghi (2020) stated that since CBD oil can help reduce inflammation, it is useful in patients suffering from this condition and also help reduce endocannabinoid deficiency and Fibromyalgia. According to Teitelbaum (2019), fibromyalgia patients can help tackle insomnia, anxiety disorders, and muscle relaxation. It helps an individual be more relaxed and sleepier and feel less pain and no tension in muscles.

    How To Use

    There are many ways in which individuals who have Fibromyalgia can use CBD oil to their effectiveness. Some of the ways are;

    Sublingually

It is a way of placing CBD oil under the tongue. After the placement, an individual should wait for around 10 seconds before swallowing the CBD oil as it is absorbed into the bloodstream. It is one of the fastest ways an individual can feel the effects of CBD oil.

    Topically

It is the physical application of CBD oil on the skin of a fibromyalgia patient. The CBD oil is directly applied to the area being affected. The CBD will be absorbed but will not reach the blood system of an individual.

    Inhaling

Just like smoking, CBD oil can be inhaled through Vape pens. Inhaling CBD oil enters the lungs before being absorbed into the bloodstream.

    Orally

CBD oil can be infused in capsules, which an individual can swallow, or it can be added to your food or drink. This way, the CBD oil should be digested and assimilated before feeling.

    Trans-dermally

It is through the application of CBD patches on the skin of an individual. The CBD has penetrated the skin and then absorbed into the bloodstream.

    Purchasing CBD Oil

Individuals should ensure that the CBD oil products are of appropriate potency and quality. To prevent risks of a poor product purchase, individuals should purchase from places or stores that have carried a third-party lab test on their products. Also, the CBD oil container should have a warning section, a batch number, and an FDA disclaimer to know the product's legality. Consumers should look for the ingredients within the product, as some manufacturers may incorporate heavy metals and contaminants that harm an individual’s health. In-store is a safe place for an individual to buy any CBD oil product, and it can be after researching online about the store before making such a purchase.

    Legality

On the federal level, CBD oil is legal and can be used by any individual as per The Hemp Act in the 2018 Farm Bill. All the products extracted from hemp containing 0.03% THC levels are legal. But CBD oil extracted from marijuana contains a higher THC level and is illegal under federal law. Oberbarnscheidt & Miller (2020) explained that, in medication, only one FDA-approved drug is used by individuals who have epilepsy, called Epidiolex.

    Conclusion

Fibromyalgia affects many people in the world, and it is not curable. It leaves individuals with limited choices on how best to cope with such a condition. Since CBD oil helps reduce pain, inflammation, and anxiety, it is seen to help reduce pain related to Fibromyalgia which is widespread. An individual should be keen as CBD oil does not cure but help in reducing some pains. They can consume CBD oil in different ways to benefit as the product has no specific dose and is not restricted. Individuals should consider a doctor's prescription to prevent adverse effects from CBD oil.
