    CBD OIL FOR ALLERGIES

Do you know about allergies? Allergies are common and can affect anyone. With CBD making headlines, many are wondering whether it can be used to treat allergies, while others are wondering whether using CBD can bring about allergies.

Ever seen someone sniffling, sneezing, having watery eyes, or wheezing after interacting with a substance? An allergy is a damaging immune response by the body to something, often a specific food, fur, pollen, or dust. When someone has an allergy to something, they often become hypersensitive when encountering the object. CBD (Cannabidiol) is a cannabis-based plant that has gained popularity over the years. This is based on its health and wellness benefits across many areas. In light of this, people are curious if CBD oil can work for allergies. This article has more information on CBD oil for allergies.

    Things To Note About Allergies

There are common types of allergies, such as allergies to fur and pollen, and rare allergies, such as those related to particular foods. There are also mild and acute allergies that often require a more individual approach as they present themselves as severe conditions. According to Simpson et al. (2017), there is no cure for any allergy; instead, allergies are managed by avoiding triggers. They can also be managed by supplementation, proper diet, and specific lifestyle changes.

Some symptoms of allergies include sneezing, watery eyes, itching, running nose, and wheezing. In extreme cases, specific allergies bring about rashes or even problems in breathing. Remember that these symptoms only appear when the person comes into contact with these substances, damaging the immune system and triggering allergic reactions. When the immune system functions properly, it can differentiate harmful compounds from safe compounds, which can combat allergic reactions. Kroschinsky et al. (2017)  noted that when the cells are disrupted, the immune system may release antibodies to combat the normal substances, which may seem like potential threats.

Whenever an individual encounters an allergy, their body releases histamine, the major antibody responsible for allergic reactions. Dine et al. (2017) stated that medication known as an antihistamine prevents antibodies from affecting the immune system. Allergies linked to specific foods are hard to treat since, in this case, the immune system attacks the proteins in the food bringing about acute symptoms like anaphylaxis. If not immediately taken care of, anaphylaxis is fatal. To combat anaphylaxis, people with allergies often carry certain pens infused with epinephrine. Learn more about how much cbd oil for lupus?

    CBD Oil and Allergies

Research into CBD oil and its potential benefits is limited, and most information about CBD are hypotheses yet to be proven as facts. However, anecdotal evidence on CBD has shown that CBD comprises anti-inflammatory properties alongside immunosuppressant properties. Inflammation is the main cause of allergies. According to Kandlur et al. (2020), inflammation and oxidative stress are intimately involved in many human diseases. Nonetheless, CBD is proving to be more promising in treating allergies due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. However, there is a need for more studies to ascertain these claims.

    Using CBD Oil for Allergies

Taking CBD oil offers immediate effects on the allergy and the allergic reactions, and these effects are long-lasting. CBD oil can be taken sublingually where the CBD drops are placed under the tongue and then held for up to one minute. This form of CBD intake is most effective as the CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream faster through the numerous blood vessels in the mouth. It ensures that the CBD oil doesn't lose its potency as other methods such as capsules and edibles would. In comparison, edibles and capsules are good alternatives but take longer to produce effects than sublingual.

Can One Be Allergic To CBD?

One can be allergic to CBD; this is when you inhale, eat or even touch cannabis plants, similar to the allergy to pollen, where when an individual inhales pollen, they may get a fever. A person may have allergic reactions to more than one substance. Individuals who experience allergic reactions to dust mites, cat fur, and plants are at a greater risk of allergy to cannabis. However, there is a need for more studies to ascertain how cannabis is related to allergic reactions. One should be cautious when selecting CBD products as these may present an additional allergy. Potential Allergic Reactions to CBD Oil

Just like a cannabis allergy, there is also an allergy to CBD, which may develop in different forms. However, users must understand that CBD also presents its side effects, and to some extent, it can be hard to differentiate between CBD side effects and CBD allergy. According to Gottschling et al.  (2020), the side effects of CBD include dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea, and dry mouth. Adverse reactions to CBD aren't symptoms of allergy. Symptoms of an allergy include:

Itchy or dry eyes – This is a common symptom often experienced by cannabis users resulting from THC use. Some CBD users may experience red or dry eyes.

Difficulty in breathing – This is experienced in most allergies. The best solution for this symptom is to seek medical attention.

Skin irritation – is often associated with using CBD topically, where you apply the CBD oil directly on the skin. However, CBD topical products are made of different ingredients, and it might be other ingredients causing allergic reactions apart from CBD.

Migraines – Mild headaches may come about when using CBD products, especially for beginners who use a slightly higher dosage.

    Conclusion

CBD is still a research subject, and there is only limited information about it and its medical claims. Even so, CBD has anti-inflammatory effects, and since allergies are linked to inflammation, CBD can be of use to combat their symptoms. You must buy high-quality CBD products from reputable companies to steer clear of CBD allergic reactions. Additionally, as a beginner in CBD, consider starting low on dosage and then working your way up over time until you achieve the desired effects.
