    Full-Spectrum Vs. Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil

Full-spectrum and broad-spectrum are two of the three types of CBD. They are known to have importance in the body. Some of the benefits that they have include; relieving pain and having anti-anxiety properties.

CBD has been the talk for some time because of the benefits that they have been acclaimed to have. Many questions about the three types of CBD have been posed, especially the broad and full spectrum. The broad-spectrum and full-spectrum at times, have been interchangeably used. This is because they are known to have almost all the compounds found in the cannabis plant. However, they are not similar as some compounds cannot be found on the broad spectrum. This article talks about the two types of CBD, their benefits, and the extraction processes and may answer many of the questions that linger in individuals' minds.

    Full-Spectrum Vs. Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil

    CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a natural and organic product from the cannabis plant. Its chemicals are naturally found in marijuana plants. CBD oil is created by extracting the flowers or leaves of the cannabis plant, and then combined or placed in/with a carrier oil like olive oil. Even though it comes from marijuana plants, it does not give a "high" effect or any form of intoxication. This effect is not present because of the THC compounds.

    How To Use CBD?

CBD can be used in various ways. some of these ways include

    • Topicals
    • Vapes
    • Edibles
    • Tinctures
    • CBD bath bombs

    Full-Spectrum CBD

Maayah et al. (2020) stated that full-spectrum has almost all the compounds found in the cannabis plant. It also has the presence of THC in them. Full-spectrum has a percentage of 0.3. All compounds in the full-spectrum CBD work together to give out the entourage effect. VanDolah et al. (2019) suggested that most people prefer using the full spectrum CBD because of the presence of all compounds of the cannabis plant, as most are active.

    Importance of Full-Spectrum

Full-spectrum is known to be beneficial in the body. This can be seen through the different properties that they possess. Some properties include pain-relieving, antioxidant, anti-anxiety, and anti-seizure properties. The great thing about full-spectrum is that all the compounds are active and can work together to bring about the entourage effect

    Extraction of the Full-spectrum

Extraction of the full spectrum is simple. This is because it does not have to go through different processes like the other types of CBD. Full-spectrum is extracted from the cannabis plant, and the main process it goes through is the one that ensures that all the excess fat like the waxes and other unnecessary compounds from the spectrum. When extracted, it is known to have all the compounds of the cannabis plant.

    Broad-Spectrum

This type of CBD does not contain THC. It does contain other components of cannabis plants. The broad-spectrum is known to be almost the same as the full spectrum. The only difference is the components that each of them has. When processing broad-spectrum oil, it goes through the normal process, and the THC is then removed during the extraction. Broad-spectrum allows the user to benefit from the entourage effect, not present in CBD isolate, without consuming any THC as they do with full-spectrum.

    Method of Extracting Broad-Spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum can be extracted in two ways. It can either be extracted from the full-spectrum or isolate-based. Through the full-spectrum, the broad-spectrum can be gotten by passing it through several processes like filtration to ensure that the THC compound is removed. Some compounds may be lost through this process. The final result is what is considered the broad spectrum.

When extracting it from the isolate-based, it is much easier. It involves adding compounds such as terpenes, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids to the isolate-based. The great thing about extracting it from the isolate-based is that the latter does not have the presence of THC as it is completely pure. The final product that is gotten when adding the compounds to the isolate-based is what is considered the broad-spectrum.

    Importance of Broad Spectrum

Broad-spectrum and full-spectrum are known to have the same benefits. This is because they have almost the same compounds, except the THC compound. As stated above, there is always the chance that the THC compound can be found in small amounts. This amount cannot cause any effect. The only difference between the importance of the broad-spectrum and full-spectrum is that its effects are not as fast as the latter. This is because some important compounds may be lost when extracted. Learn more about hemp seed oil vs cbd oil

Difference Between Full-Spectrum and Broad Spectrum

According to Bowen et al. (2021), the main difference between full-spectrum and broad-spectrum is the presence of the THC compound. This is because the full-spectrum is known to have the presence of THC compound in it. Jin et al. (2020) stated that broad-spectrum does not have the presence of the psychoactive compound THC. However, there are instances in which THC can be found in small amounts. The best CBD type between the full-spectrum and the broad-spectrum will always rely on the individual's preference. It is also determined by how isolated the CBD is from the compounds in the oil. Note that the full-spectrum and broad-spectrum have different percentages of THC, especially if the latter has traces of the THC.

Health Benefits of Full-spectrum and Broad-spectrum

    Anxiety

Getting to know the best type of CBD between the broad-spectrum and full-spectrum to use when dealing with anxiety is sometimes difficult. This is because both of them have anti-anxiety properties. However, those who do not want to feel the effect of THC, especially when using CBD in high dosages, can always rely on the broad spectrum. Most of the time, people use full-spectrum because it has all the compounds in the cannabis plant; thus, the anti-anxiety effects are efficient.

    Pain Relief

Full-spectrum assists in relieving pain. The full extract effects in people, especially those with chronic pain, improve their symptoms. The anti-inflammatory properties of full-spectrum can assist in relieving pain in individuals that may be brought about through inflammation in the body.

    Conclusion

As seen in this article, the full-spectrum and the broad-spectrum are not similar, but they still do not have much difference. The only thing that makes them different is the components found in each other. The benefits and importance are also similar, except that broad spectrum effects are not as fast as the full spectrum as they lack some compounds that may boost its effectiveness. Choosing the best CBD will always rely on individual preferences. Learn more about how to take cbg oil?
